Bristol - Presentations - Hide and Reveal with the Curtain

Uploaded by Sanderin van Hazebrouck, Pädagogische Hochschule Heidelberg (Germany)

Description

This clip shows a group of learners giving a short presentation on one of Bristol's famous sights. They use the curtain as a hide and reveal tool to have their classmates guess which sight they are talking about. The image is used as a support for their oral presentation. Before the presentation the learners had enough time to prepare the presentation and to practice it using the IWB.

Teacher comment

When giving the presentations the learners learn how to integrate the whole class by using the IWB tools, so the learners have to guess what is shown in the picture. You can also do that without the IWB by covering up pictures on transparencies but using the IWB and its tools is easier and more appealing to the audience.

Learner comments

Learner 1: I liked the presentations because when we use the IWB we shouldn't use it with the whole class all the time. Sometimes it is nice to work in pairs. It was a really good exercise because we were able to use the IWB on our own a lot.

Learner 2: We learned a lot about Bristol, about Brunel the engineer who built many buildings or sights. The presentations with the IWB were really informative.
