Georgia - listening comprehension - writing down the information

This clip shows the consolidation phase of a station work activity in an intermediate English classroom. The learners listened to a native speaker talk about things you can do in Georgia and its Capitol. The learners listened to the text one more time and then collect the information they remember on the IWB.

Die direkte Verknüpfung von: man klickt auf den Mann wenn man spricht, ist ein bisschen mehr.
Die Resonanz war auch gut, die Kinder wussten wieder viel. Und ich finde man sieht, dass man es doch auch kommunikativ verwenden kann. Man lässt sie vorkommen und einen ganzen Satz sagen, lässt sie dann aufschreiben. Das ist dann wichtig, dass man es nicht nur zum Schreiben verwendet oder zum verbildlichen.

The direct connection between sound and image - clicking on the face of the man and then hearing him talk. The participation from the learners was great, they knew a lot and were really communicative. They did not just write it down, but they had to say a whole sentence and then summarize it and write it on the IWB. It is important to let them speak, not just use the IWB for writing or visualization. 

Aber  da war ich wirklich überrascht was dann teilweise so kam, denn ich hätte ganz andere Sachen glaube ich genannt.  Sie haben viel Sprache produziert und das ist ja das Gute. Aber da ist es eben wichtig es nicht nur schreiben zu lassen sondern auch sagen lassen.

I was really surprised by what the learners said, since I thought they would say completely different things. They produced a lot of language, that's what's great about it. That's why it is important to make them talk, not just write things down.

Die Schüler durften auch das sagen, was ihnen wichtig ist, oder was sie noch wissen. Die Lehrerin hat nicht nach etwas Konkretem gefragt und die Schüler mussten die Antwort dazu sagen.

The learners were allowed to say the things they thought were important. The teacher did not ask for specific answers.
