Georgia - revision of stationwork- magic box

This clip shows an intermediate English class after station work. Groups of 5 came to the IWB and labeled the neighbouring states of Georgia, which was the main topic of the unit.

To check the task on the IWB, the teacher asks one learner to move the magic box to reveal the neighbour states of Georgia. The other learners participate with calling out the names.

Genau es haben sich alle gut gemeldet und da wussten sie auch alle echt noch viel. Ich glaube die Station war sehr einprägsam. Also offensichtlich hilft das IWB den Schülern beim erinnern an die Staaten, denn die Resonanz bei der Kontrolle war echt gut. Es haben sich viele Schüler gemeldet und wollten was sagen und dann haben sie kaum Fehler gemacht. Das liegt wahrscheinlich doch an dem Medium einfach, sie haben sich damit vorher beschäftigt und waren auch konzentrierter. Es  war groß dargestellt, die Präsentation wahrscheinlich einfach, wie es dargestellt wurde. 

Everybody participated and they remembered a lot. I think the IWB station was very memorable. Obviously the IWB helps the learners to remeber the names of the states, because the feedback when checking the task was really good. Many learners participated and wanted to say something and when they did they hardly made any mistakes. I think this is due to the IWB itself, since they had spent quite some time on it and were really concentrated. The IWB helps to visualize things better and clearer.

Schüler1: Also mir hat bei der Stationsarbeit das mit dem Whiteboard und den Nachbarstaaten Spaß gemacht.  

Learner 1: I liked the IWB station the most, the one with the neighbouring states.

Schüler 2: Ja find ich das auch gut, das bei dieser Karte mit der Magic Box, wo man das dann so aufdecken konnte. Weil ich es lustig finde, erst sieht man nicht was da steht und dann schiebt man diese Box da rüber und dann kann man es erkennen.

Learner 2: I liked it too, especially the map with the magic box, where you could reveal the things. I thought it was funny, because first you could not see it and then you move the box and then you can recognize it.
