This activity is taken from the context of a lesson learning the vocabulary for different items of clothing in Welsh. In this activity the whole class were required to say each word and an individual learner was selected to use the rubber to reveal the picture that corresponded with the word below. The vocabulary had been learnt in previous years but this was the first time as a class they had practiced the vocabulary.

I chose this particular video clip as it involved active participation from the children. The rub and reveal is a simple but effective tool that the children enjoy to use.
Children were learning new vocabulary and this activity (with the IWB) allowed them to see the word and matching picture. Seeing the word and the spelling is a good start for their reading and their writing skills.
The IWB motivates and supports all learners. From my experience it keeps children engaged and motivated. The different tools can develop a variety of different skills across the curriculum. It is very versatile therefore it avoids lessons being the same and becoming a bit boring and repetitive.
It helps us to learn welsh by playing games and learning stuff.
If you just turn around to see the computer it would be really small.
